Miranda
Hola! My name is Miranda and I am currently a student at the University of California, Berkeley. I am majoring in Public Health and aspire to be a Physician's Assistant. I am proudly the first generation of my family to attend college. Spanish is my first language; my parents have always spoken to me in Spanish (and still do!). They have always emphasized the importance of preserving my native tongue, culture, and heritage. Due to this, I have been able to connect to my family and community on a deeper level, learning to love and appreciate my people and culture. I want others to be able to learn more and appreciate the beautiful language I grew up speaking. During the pandemic, I recall my aunt tutoring me in the finer points of reading and writing in Spanish and am now excited and privileged that I get to pay it back and do so for others. From a young age, my peers have always leaned on me and asked me for help. I like to approach my students with a calm and understanding lens, emphasizing learning instead of rushing through topics. I really want my students to enjoy what they are learning! In my free time, I like to go on late night drives, cafe-hop, color, and spend time with my family and friends. Oh! And I love matcha and need to have my daily fix. 🍵 Subjects: Spanish

Kaylie
Hi! I’m Kaylie, a Business Economics and Cognitive Science student at UCLA. When I’m not studying for my next exam in the library, you’ll probably find me backstage working on a theatre production, producing a live sports broadcast, or in the kitchen, cooking up a storm for my friends and family. Since 2020, I’ve worked with students across a wide range of subjects, designing lessons and creating materials that meet them exactly where they are. As a student with ADHD, I know firsthand that what works for one person may not work for another, so I always prioritize adapting my approach to fit my students' needs--instead of teaching the “standard” way, I focus on breaking down concepts in ways that actually make sense to the individual learner. Above all, I aim to be my students' biggest cheerleader. While academic progress is certainly a priority, my greater focus is to make sure my students leave our sessions feeling confident, supported, and empowered to take charge of their learning! Subjects: Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus (AB/BC), Integrated Math, Economics (all levels), SAT Preparation, College Counseling

Annabelle
Hi, I’m Annabelle. I’m a rising senior pursuing a major in neuroscience with a minor in math at the University of California, Los Angeles. On top of medicine and research, I’ve had a longstanding interest in education. Since 2020, I’ve taught English to people in areas of conflict through online lessons. Through a STEM club at UCLA, I’ve guided high schoolers through biochemical experiments and pop culture themed presentations on the protocol and science behind them. I was also a learning assistant for UCLA’s Life Science 7A course, using memorable visuals and analogies to break down complex molecular biology concepts. While many interpret the mistakes that come with tackling new and challenging concepts as setbacks, I want to frame them as opportunities for growth. Applying my own experiences in STEM, I hope to foster an open atmosphere, where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning through trial and error. Outside of academics, I’ve had a lifelong passion for the arts. I love drawing and painting pretty much anything and everything, carrying a sketchbook with me at all times. I also love playing the guitar, watching horror movies, reading, and making short films for educational purposes. Subjects: Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, Trigonometry, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus (AB and BC), Biology (up to AP)
