Allison
I recently earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in accounting and finance, and I have experience tutoring math students of varying levels. I am one of Mr. Cam's former Algebra I students, so I have witnessed firsthand the immense dedication and attention he pours into his academic curriculum, and now his tutoring sessions. His enthusiasm and zeal for his students' success is contagious, which is why I strive to model my tutoring approach in the same way: full of eagerness to teach and empathy to listen. In the past, I have simplified math fundamentals for a number of students, and I have seen their comprehension of more advanced topics improve significantly as a result. Through proper encouragement and relevant practice problems, I have helped students regain their confidence in their ability to learn math and solve problems, and my hope is in time they will grow to enjoy the learning process in other subjects as well.
Jack L
Hi I'm Jack! I am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Mathematics at CSU East Bay. I have be en tutoring high school and college students in math for over two years. I have always had a passion for math and teaching; I'm even considering becoming a professor one day! Many say "math is hard" and I get that but given the right teacher and environment, it doesn't have to be. I want to make math fun and to bring a new light to math so others can enjoy it as much as I do! I try my best to adapt to different learning styles and to help students have a deeper understanding of the subject. Sometimes it's a small mistake or a misunderstood idea, but I encourage students to try their best and always be open to ask questions and together we can figure out how to figure out any problem step by step. It brings me joy when students light up when they finally understand an idea and I want to give every student that chance to feel confident in themselves. My professors have always inspired me to keep going so I want to do the same for the others. In my free time, I enjoy playing games, listening to music, hanging out with friends, and coding. I also really enjoy exploring and walking around in nature. Subjects: Algebra I & II, Trigonometry, Integrated Math, Precalculus, Calculus 1-3

Christina
Hi! My name is Christina! I recently graduated from UC San Diego with a BS in Cognitive Science specializing in Design and Interaction. By day, I am a product designer and software engineer and by night, I teach math! One fun fact about me is that I used to be one of Mr. Cam's students back in 8th grade. His ability to teach and motivate students inspired me to now teach as well! When I was in junior high and even high school, I wasn't even remotely proficient at math and I didn't understand how important math fundamentals were at the time. I even had to take summer school twice to make up my math grades since I did so poorly and I was scared I wouldn't even graduate high school. It took me many years to build confidence and understand how to break down math concepts until I started getting A's in my college-level math classes so I understand if you're struggling. Back in high school, I would have never have seen myself teaching math, but I've been teaching students math ranging anywhere from 3rd grade all the way to Calculus for 3 years now and I love watching my students succeed. I love showing students how to approach problems, letting them know you can build confidence in math and you are capable of succeeding. In my spare time, I enjoy swimming, painting, travelling to new cities, watching Netflix, finding aesthetically pleasing coffee shops to work in, and finding good food!

Jack M
Hi! My name is Jack. I am currently a computer science major at UCLA, although I am considering switching to Physics because I love it so much! I hope to one day pursue graduate school and eventually research quantum computing. With two parents as teachers, I understand the importance of having a secondary resource for learning outside of the classroom. Any time I felt I didn't understand something, I always had that extra help. My passion now is to be that extra help like my parents were to me. Whether that means breaking down complex questions into simple parts or fostering an environment where the student feels safe to ask questions and make mistakes, I'm here for you. Outside of tutoring, I participate in hacking competitions at UCLA, go to the gym, read (mostly fiction, I love Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings!), and participate in the Astronomy club at UCLA.
