Hello! My name is Robel and I'm currently a student at Pomona College studying Math and Religious Studies. I've loved math since I heard Yakko's multiplication song in "Animaniacs." When I was younger, I thought math was simply memorization. I learned quickly that math is a language — a rigorous study of patterns that helps us understand the natural world. Even if you never use certain formulas again, you build critical thinking skills that shape how you observe the world in everything you do. My call to teaching comes from my older brother, who taught me the value of being patient and adaptive. He inspired me to carry this same dedication to others. I love seeing the transformation in others in hopes of building them into the mentors of the next generation. Outside of academics, I love to run, play basketball, and talk with friends. I love eating all kinds of foods (except avocados...) and playing random melodies with my flute!

Hola! My name is Miranda and I am currently a student at the University of California, Berkeley. I am majoring in Public Health and aspire to be a Physician's Assistant. I am proudly the first generation of my family to attend college. Spanish is my first language; my parents have always spoken to me in Spanish (and still do!). They have always emphasized the importance of preserving my native tongue, culture, and heritage. Due to this, I have been able to connect to my family and community on a deeper level, learning to love and appreciate my people and culture. I want others to be able to learn more and appreciate the beautiful language I grew up speaking. During the pandemic, I recall my aunt tutoring me in the finer points of reading and writing in Spanish and am now excited and privileged that I get to pay it back and do so for others. Hello, my name is Lucien! I am currently enrolled at the University of California Berkeley majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis on immunology. While in high school, I was amongst a small group of students who helped pilot a peer math tutoring program. The program is still going strong many years later! Over the past few years, my passion for aiding others has led me to tutor a diverse range of math levels spanning from elementary school math to Pre-Calculus and Statistics. My teaching philosophy centers on employing open-ended questions to foster critical thinking and empower confident expression. Hi, I'm Abigail! I am an undergraduate student at UC Berkeley working towards my B.S. in Educational Sciences. I transferred to Cal from community college, where I earned my A.S. in Mathematics. I want to either become a math professor or curriculum developer. I was a math and statistics tutor during my time in community college, and this experience allowed me to work with many students of various ages and backgrounds. I've also volunteered at elementary schools, helping students gain confidence in their mathematical literacy. Overall, I'm extremely passionate about making learning an enjoyable experience for all!
