Personalized online support
Bay Area Tutors, Inc. provides personalized, one-on-one online test prep tutoring for students throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and nationwide. Every session is 100% online and one-on-one, helping students prepare for the SAT, ACT, and HSPT from home.
Whether your student is preparing for the SAT, ACT, or HSPT, we match them with focused, individualized support that targets their specific areas for improvement.
Families begin by contacting Bay Area Tutors and sharing which exam their student is preparing for and when. We learn about the student's current skill level, target score goals, timeline, learning style, and scheduling needs, then use that information to help match the student with an appropriate tutor. Each tutoring relationship is personalized, one-on-one, and 100% online.
The HSPT is typically taken by students in 8th grade preparing for Catholic high school admissions, while the SAT and ACT are most commonly taken during 11th and 12th grade. We work with students at each of these stages, helping them review tested concepts, develop pacing and strategy, and identify areas where focused practice can make the biggest difference. One-on-one tutoring gives students the space to work through material at their own pace and build confidence before exam day.
The right tutor can make a meaningful difference in how a student approaches a high-stakes exam. We consider each student's target exam, current skill level, timeline, personality, learning style, and goals when matching them with an appropriate tutor. That thoughtful match helps create sessions that feel focused, encouraging, and productive.
At Bay Area Tutors, Inc., we believe strong learning starts with a strong relationship. When a tutor and student build trust, students feel comfortable asking questions, working through challenging problems, and tackling unfamiliar question types without fear. That supportive environment helps students build both skill and confidence heading into exam day.

We used Bay Area Tutors and couldn't have been happier! The tutor we were matched with really helped my daughter improve very quickly. Changes to the schedule were extremely easy as well. If we need more tutoring in the future, we will definitely be back!
